A HERO HAS A PURPOSE, IS RESILIENT AND HONEST, PERSEVERES IN THE FACE OF OBSTACLES
Welcome to our "Be A Hero Club" program - the only program of its kind that focuses solely on teen drug education, peer-to-peer pressure, and emotional wellness. Our program is designed to help teens navigate the complexities of adolescence, including the impact of limiting beliefs, the pressure to conform, and the lure of illicit drugs. We believe that education is the key to prevention, which is why our program is grounded in evidence-based research.
As a retired probation officer, I know firsthand what can happen when students get derailed in middle school and high school due to adverse childhood experiences. In response to the recent drug epidemic in our country's schools, we, at Final Step International, developed a mental and emotional wellness program called “Be A Hero Club” that provides students with the skills they need to make healthy decisions in their everyday life.
Our program, Be A Hero, aims to help middle and high school students examine the choices they make, the consequences that follow each type of choice, and the freedom to determine, for themselves, what types of choices they wish/decide to make in any given situation. Our program, “Be A Hero Club,” aims to help students strengthen their character and give them the tools to have the self-confidence to say "NO" to peer-to-peer pressure and bullying.
At “Be A Hero Club” program will make it possible to educate and give the students the necessary tools to succeed and have the confidence to move on to their next stage of life. We have worked with a variety of organizations and families that offer educational resources to middle school and high school students.
If you’re looking to gain confidence in your Courage to say “NO” and the confidence to say “YES”, then join the “Be A Hero Club!” You'll learn how to stay focused on your core values and be true to yourself with an individualized program of skill-building exercises. Together, we will create a new habit that encourages self-love and improves health & well-being—for good!
Courage to say “NO” and have the confidence to say “YES
Building courage and self-confidence
Dealing with conflicting emotions
Our program, "Be A Hero Club," is a six-to-twelve-week curriculum offered twice a week.
Our classroom engagement is creative, effective, and fun
We aim to help middle and high school students examine the choices they make, the consequences that follow each type of choice, and their ability to make for themselves positive self-affirming choices in any given situation.
Today's teachers have a lot on their plates--they have to teach, manage the classroom and help their students succeed academically. We also know that by understanding and addressing students' emotional health and well-being, teachers can provide the necessary support to fulfill students' academic potential.
Here are 3 reasons:
1- Establishes and sustains an orderly environment in the classroom.
2- Allows for increased meaningful academic learning and facilitates social and emotional growth.
3- Decreases negative behaviors while increasing time spent academically engaged.
